bullish futures; TIM presents a business plan

(Alliance News) – Milan, unlike other major European exchanges, marks a bullish path ahead of the opening gong for the third session of the week, according to the futures market.

Important days for inflation data, which after the US figures that saw a slight slowdown in January, saw another slowdown in the UK. This slowed to 10.1 percent in January from 10.5 percent in December, below market forecasts of 10.3 percent, while marking disinflation on the monthly time frame.

Meanwhile, European Central Bank Governing Council member Gabriel Makhlouf said Tuesday night that the bank may raise interest rates above 3.5 percent and probably will not cut them this year as it moves strongly to bring inflation back on target, in an interview with the Wall Street Journal . Makhlouf has previously said he would not be surprised if members continued to raise interest rates beyond the end of March.

In the corporate world, on the other hand, it is reported that aside from the 2022 and fourth quarter accounts, the board of Telecom Italia Spa also approved the company’s new business plan, which covers the three-year period 2023-2025 with optimism about a corporate growth trend.

Thus, the FTSE Mib advanced 35.00 points, after closing ahead 0.2 percent at 27,498.26 Tuesday evening.

In Europe, Paris’s CAC 40 is giving up 16.50 points, London’s FTSE 100 is contracting 7.70 points, and Frankfurt’s DAX 40 is contracting 23.00 points.

Last night, among the smaller listings, the Mid-Cap closed up 0.4 percent at 44,669.49, while the Small-Cap rose 0.1 percent to 30,258.88 and Italy Growth picked up 0.1 percent to 9,670.84.

On the main list in Piazza Affari on Tuesday evening, boost on Tenaris on the eve of the release of results. The stock rises 2.4%, setting the price at EUR16.19.

Purchases also on Saipem, which rose 1.8% to EUR1.44 after the eve’s red of 5.7%.

Iveco Group, on the other hand, gave up 2.4 percent, the subject of profit taking after three sessions of significant gains due to excellent results for 2021 published days ago.

Stellantis, on the other hand, gave up 1.7 percent, reversing from eve’s green by 0.6 percent.

Enel Finance International NV, a Dutch-registered holding company controlled by Enel Spa, on Monday launched a two-tranche sustainability-linked bond on the eurobond market aimed at institutional investors for a total of EUR1.5 billion. The stock gives up 0.4 percent.

On the cadet list, Zignago Vetro rose 5.3 percent to EUR17.02, closing for the fifth session in a row in the green.

LUVE gave up 1.4 percent, the subject of profit taking after six sessions in a row ended with a positive balance, bringing the price back to EUR31.30.

Tinexta, on the other hand, gave up 2.4%, following Eve’s green with 2.6% to EUR25.00.

Rear-ends also for Ascopiave, which gave up 2%. The stock closed the session with high trading volume at 184,000, compared to the three-month daily average of around 76,000.

On the Small-Cap, Banca Sistema gave up 4.2 percent, in the red for the third consecutive session. The company last week released its 2022 numbers, which closed with a net profit of EUR22.0 million from EUR23.3 million as of Dec. 31, 2021. Net interest income stood at EUR85.4 million, up 4.0 percent from EUR81.9 million in 2021.

LVEnture, on the other hand, fell back 1.1%, placing it on the bearish side for the fourth session in a row.

Elica — in a 0.4 percent letter — reported Tuesday that it had revenues of EUR548.6 million in FY2022, up 1.4 percent from EUR541.3 million in FY2021. Earnings for the period relating to 2022, amounted to EUR17.8 million, up 1.8% from EUR17.5 million in 2021.

Among the bullish, minority segment, Eukedos moved ahead 7.1 percent after 4.8 percent in the previous session.

Among SMEs, Bellini Nautica rose 4.7% to EUR2.24.

CY4Gate – up 0.2 percent – reported Tuesday that the total value of contracts acquired in recent weeks in the cybersecurity segment amounts to about EUR1.3 million, for the duration of one year.

Farmaé — ahead 3.7 percent — reported Tuesday that it had posted a 41 percent increase in 2022 consolidated revenues to EUR116.6 million from EUR82.5 million recorded as of Dec. 31, 2021, and up 13 percent from EUR102.5 million in pro forma 2021 consolidated revenues.

CrowdFundme, on the other hand, gave up 6.6 percent after two sessions closed on the green.

Imprendiroma gave ground with 5.5 percent, compared to Eve’s green with 7.6 percent. The company reported Monday that as of Dec. 31, the backlog of contracted orders, to be executed in the two-year period 2022-2023, amounted to EUR165.3 million, showing a significant increase in the value of orders already started, which stood at EUR121.5 million.

In New York – on the European night – the Dow closed 0.5% in the red, the Nasdaq was up 0.6%, and the S&P 500 closed just below par.

In Asia, the Hang Seng retreated with 1.6%, the Shanghai Composite gave up 0.4% as did the Nikkei in Japan.

Among currencies, the euro changed hands at USD1.0709 versus USD1.0716 at Tuesday’s close. In contrast, the pound is worth USD1.2140 from USD1.2149 on Tuesday evening.

Among commodities, Brent crude is worth USD 84.82 per barrel versus USD 85.19 per barrel Tuesday evening. Gold, on the other hand, trades at USD 1,843.91 an ounce from USD 1,848.00 an ounce at Tuesday’s close.

On Wednesday’s macroeconomic calendar, at 1100 CET, eyes on industrial production and the Eurozone trade balance.

From the States, at 1300 CET, focus on the mortgage market report; at 1430 CET, retail sales will be released; and, at 1515 CET, the industrial production figure will be released.

At 1630 CET, room for crude oil stocks, EIA count, and Cushing’s inventory. At 1900 CET, an auction of 20-year Treasury bonds will be held.

Among the companies in the Piazza Affari, the results of Autogrill, Edilizi Acrobatica, Edison, eVISO, GEL, GPI, Interpump, Leone Film Group, and Tenaris are forthcoming.
