There were a lot of new happenings in March for Center County businesses. Check it out

The Center County business scene heated up in March with changes to some well-known businesses and plans coming into focus for others.

Here’s a look at a busy month in business news:

on the move

  • Stuckey Mitsubishi relocated to the former CDT building at 3400 E. College Ave., State College. The dealership is now known as Stuckey Mitsubishi Super Centre.

  • Bees Knees Coffee will open Up Up and Away Cafe at the University Park Airport on April 10. As part of the move, the takeout window in Pleasant Gap will shut down.

  • Marin Eats and Flo Bros. Fire Smoked Pizza took over the kitchen at Axemann Brewery from The Smokey Ax Grille.

Daily Thread, a women’s clothing store, opened in the Nittany Mall. It’s the mall’s first new business this year and occupies the former Express space.

  • The Bellefonte and College Avenue Waffle Shop locations are under new leadership. Longtime owner Greg Knight sold the restaurants to Duane Reese.

  • Jim Italian’s Cuisine, a Bellefonte mainstay, is for sale. Owner Jim Boscaino is hoping to find a buyer to take over the restaurant.

  • Wawa announced plans for its first Center County location in Benner Township.

  • Figo Italian restaurant hopes to open on the ground floor of The Standard, 330 W. College Ave. in downtown State College. Borough Council will consider a liquor license transfer for the restaurant April 3.

  • A new sit-down bar will open in May at Penn State Golf Courses’ Walker Clubhouse.

Ribbon-cuttings

  • Fusion Bodywork and Fitness, 3592 Penns Valley Road, Spring Mills, held a grand opening celebration and ribbon-cutting ceremony for its massage and fitness studio. Fusion offers individualized and massage services. It is also home to Your Essential Spa, which sells handmade spa products.

  • Mount Nittany Health hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the opening of the renovated lab at Mount Nittany Medical Center. The $9 million project streamlined workflow through strategic design and layout.
