Raleigh developer sells Summerville residential community > Charleston Business Journal

A Summerville luxury residential community has been sold to a Boston-based real estate investment firm.

Raleigh, NC-based Terwilliger Pappas, a multifamily developer, has sold Solis Nexton, a 320-unit luxury residential community in Summerville, to West Shore.

Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

West Shore, a multifamily real estate investment firm, now owns and operates 45 properties with over 14,000 units in seven states, according to a news release. The sale marks the 29th community completed and sold by Terwilliger Pappas since the company’s founding in 2013.

Does Canada really need a digital loonie?

The Bank of Canada is wading into the fraught and controversial world of digital currencies, launching public consultations this week into how Canadians might use a digital dollar.

“We’ve been researching a digital dollar for quite a while now,” said Carolyn Rogers, the senior deputy governor of the central bank. “And we’re at a point where we need help from Canadians, we need to understand what Canadians want.”

Mondelez reveals CoLab snack brand participants

CHICAGO — SnackFutures, the innovation and venture team at Mondelez International, Inc., has unveiled the nine rising snack brands participating in its third annual CoLab.

First launched in 2021, CoLab is a startup program that helps Mondelez build a portfolio of “disruptive brands and venture pipelines.” Participants will receive a 12-week curriculum of virtual and hands-on sessions as well as networking opportunities and a $20,000 grant.

Inflation hit 4.9% in April, the lowest it’s been in two years

Consumer prices rose 4.9% in April — the first time annual inflation has landed below 5% in two years.

On a monthly basis, the inflation rate rose 0.4%, which was higher than the 0.1% in March.

The latest report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics showed other favorable trends: Food prices rose just 7.7% over the 12-month period — the eighth-straight month of slower price growth. And on a monthly basis, food prices have actually declined.
