Pigment secures $88 million for its business planning tool that will make you forget about Excel

Paris-based startup Pigment has raised a Series C round of $88 million — the investment was led by Iconiq Growth. Pigment wants to take on Microsoft Excel and offer a business planning platform that works better than products from enterprise software behemoths, such as Oracle or SAP. It’s a new take on a critical product for large companies that need to forecast, budget and build comprehensive reports.

the Gauntlets business plan competition, which attracts entrepreneurs from statewide, named this year’s 45 winners, among them a Martinsville wellness center.

Indoor self-storage business planned for dormant Fairborn former Kmart

May 30—FAIRBORN — A long-dormant former Kmart site at a largely vacant Fairborn shopping center is the focus of a proposal for a 600-plus-unit indoor self-storage business.

Plans for the location at the Five Points Plaza at 224 E. Dayton Yellow Springs Road include an 84,180-square-foot Storage Sense on about 9.5 acres that also includes a former Kroger site, Fairborn records show.

It is reported to be a $4 million project at a shopping center that has been largely vacant for more than six years.

BC announced plans for a new cancer center in Nanaimo

The British Columbia government says central Vancouver Island residents are one step closer to having cancer treatment options available locally after a concept plan was approved for a new cancer center in Nanaimo.

BC Premier David Eby and Health Minister Adrian Dix announced the approval Friday, saying a business plan is now in the works to determine the project’s size and budget.

Cancer patients on Vancouver Island are currently required to travel to Victoria or BC’s Lower Mainland for radiation therapy. Dix says the new center will treat 1,600 of those radiation therapy patients annually once fully operational.
