Prince George business nominated for Small Business BC Awards

A Prince George business is up for a couple of Small Business BC Awards.

Kyndra Farrell got the idea the Worth A Shot Mobile Bar back when she was planning her wedding.

“There was a very limited amount of options for bartending services, especially ones that were mobile and could get to you anywhere you were,” she explained.

“I took that and went with it and saw the gap in the market, and thought ‘I’m going to completely convert a cargo trailer into a portable bartending unit.’

She said business has been good, and the bar has been in high demand.

The Worth A Shot Mobile Bar is nominated for two Small Business BC Awards; Best Youth Entrepreneur and the Premiers’ People’s Choice Awards.

“I’ve had a ton of support from the University, which I am currently going to school there, and the College, which I graduated from a couple of years ago,” she explained.

Farrell said the Premier’s People’s Choice Award is determined by votes, and the Young Entrepreneur Award determines the top five candidates.

“If we receive enough votes we could potentially receive an award instantly, and also be included in the top five to go down to Vancouver and pitch to a panel of judges,” Farrell said.

“We’re looking to get as much support as we can from the community, and have a Prince George business win one of the awards again.”
