Russia Accuses Japan of ‘Cynical Speculation’ After Tokyo’s Nuclear Rebuke

(Reuters) – Russia on Saturday accused Japan of “cynical, unscrupulous speculation” over Tokyo’s comments around the nuclear threat Moscow poses and promised to respond to Japan’s latest round of sanctions imposed over Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno on Friday said Japan would place additional sanctions on Russia after the Group of Seven (G7) summit Tokyo hosted last week agreed to step up measures to punish Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine.

Tupperware shares tank as company warns it may go out of business

Shares in Tupperware have tumbled to their lowest level on record as the iconic food storage company warned investors that it is in danger of going out of business.

Twitter has quietly removed a policy against the “targeted misgendering or dead naming of transgender individuals,” raising concerns that the Elon Musk-owned platform is becoming less safe for marginalized groups.

The digital media conglomerate Starboard said Friday it purchased the conservative social media site Parler and will temporarily take down the app as it undergoes a “strategic assessment.”

The deal came months after another acquisition agreement with rapper Kanye West, legally known as Ye, collapsed in November.

The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed by either company. Parler said the deal was concluded on April 7.

Taxes are due Tuesday in only 3 of 58 California counties

Only three of California’s 58 counties need their taxes filed by Tuesday — every other county has until Oct. 16 due to the series of atmospheric river storms that swept the state this winter.
