ESG tops regulatory demands in finance as UK, EU rules diverge

LONDON (Reuters) – Financial firms in Britain and the European Union remained under significant pressure to comply with diverging environmental, social and governance (ESG) rules over the past six months, KPMG’s Regulatory Barometer showed on Monday.

The barometer, aimed at helping firms with compliance planning, also tracks the scale of the divergence between UK and EU regulations, with KPMG saying the biggest differences are in areas like customer protection and access to markets.

Boeing plans to cut about 2,000 finance and HR jobs in 2023

SEATTLE (AP) — Boeing plans to make staffing cuts in the aerospace company’s finance and human resources departments in 2023, with a loss of around 2,000 jobs, the company said.

“We expect about 2,000 reductions primarily in Finance and HR through a combination of attrition and layoffs,” Boeing said in a statement Monday. “While no one has been notified of job loss, we will continue to share information transparently to allow people to plan.”

Stocks start the week lower as investors ponder the Fed’s rate path

US stocks fell Monday as investors faced another medley of earnings and evaluated the outlook for interest rates following January’s blowout jobs report.

Quicken Enables Users to Share Financial Info

Quicken’s personal finance app now lets users share their financial information with trusted parties.

With this new feature of the Simplifi app, spouses can share information to align their budgeting, parents can help their children develop healthy financial habits, and users can help their aging parents manage their finances, Quicken said in a Wednesday (Feb. 1) press release.

Users can also share information with accountants to streamline tax preparation and with financial planners to collaborate year-round on budgets, the release said.
