Liverpool gets new sauna and wellness complex - sauna wellness
Visitors will find two Scandinavian log-burning saunas, two ten-person hot tubs, a six-person ice bath, two individual ice baths, and showers.

The Urban Sauna, Liverpool’s biggest sauna park, will launch on November 14 at Anfield, generating 20 jobs through a broader regeneration initiative. This 24,000 sq ft wellness complex, developed by Seven Group, includes outdoor retreats and commercial spaces, designed to boost local employment and investment.

Visitors will find two Scandinavian log-burning saunas, two ten-person hot tubs, a six-person ice bath, two individual ice baths, and showers. The facility, surrounded by trees and greenery, aims to offer a space to relax and unwind.

Over the last two years, £2.5 million has been spent on revitalizing the Cherry Lane site, which included converting an existing building into a children’s nursery and play centre. Another £6 million in investment is planned, with proposals for container storage facilities, a golf simulator, a swimming pool, and a gym.

Shane Hanley, director of Seven Group and co-founder of The Urban Sauna, said: “People lead busy, hectic and stressful lives, so I wanted to create an outdoor health and wellness centre where they can come for an hour a day, two, three or four times a week, to relax, unwind and take a break from real life.”

The Urban Sauna will hold an open afternoon on November 14 before operating daily from 7am to 9pm. Annual membership will cost £999, with an introductory price of £497 for the first 100 applicants. Single sessions, block bookings, and private access will also be available.

Shane added: “Saunas and cold plunges may support wellbeing in several ways, including relaxation and sleep. It could be a place for people recovering from injury, those looking for support with their mental wellbeing, or anyone who simply wants to relax. This is about bringing people back to nature. Once you’re here, it feels like being in the country. It’s Scandinavian, simple saunas and cold-water treatments inspired by how saunas were used hundreds of years ago, offering a wellness experience that’s a little different. This was a rundown site that we decided to regenerate, and we want the people of Liverpool to come and enjoy it. The dream has become a reality, and it’s going to be phenomenal.”
