Newgen Software Recognized in Digital Process Automation Landscape

Newgen Software has been included in the “Notable Vendors” category of Forrester’s The Digital Process Automation Software Setting, Q3 2026. The report, authored by Vice President and Principal Analyst Craig Le Clair, evaluates 39 vendors in the digital process automation market. Forrester defines this category as platforms that develop process applications using advanced programming principles, including modeling, orchestration, dynamic case management, and AI-led support.

Market analysis indicates a shift toward “automation imperative” where organizations prioritize end-to-end automation over isolated tasks. Forrester identifies agentic execution as the primary market trend. This involves AI agents that build work patterns based on context and evolving conditions to augment fixed workflows.

Scaling these AI-embedded automation projects from pilot to production remains a primary challenge for many enterprises. Common obstacles include multisystem integration gaps, human-interaction breakdowns, and regulatory compliance issues. Newgen has been selected by Forrester as one of the vendors offering the three primary deployment models tracked in the report: hosted/private SaaS, multitenant SaaS, and on-premises. This deployment flexibility is often critical for prospects in regulated industries that cannot adopt a single-architecture mandate.

Forrester also notes that adaptive process orchestration (APO) is emerging as a “top disruptor” to traditional DPA logic. APO uses visual process design authored as plain-language agent instructions rather than conventional workflows. As feature overlap between DPA and APO increases, long-term platform decisions require looking beyond immediate requirements to account for this evolving market dynamic.

Core use cases for DPA vendors include business workflow, department and end-user automation, employee support agents, endpoint orchestration, and incident and service request case management. Newgen has emphasized three extended use cases as strategic focus areas: AI agent industry outcomes, customer self-service, and document automation. Runki Goswami, CMO of Newgen Software, commented on the recognition. “AI is redefining the enterprise, shifting the focus from automating individual tasks to orchestrating intelligence across the business,” Goswami said. “Organizations are increasingly looking for unified platforms that seamlessly connect processes, content, communications, and AI to drive faster decisions, operational resilience, and superior customer experiences.”

The recognition places Newgen among vendors with a geographic focus spanning North America, EMEA, and APAC. The company targets three specific sectors: financial services and insurance, government and public sector, and healthcare. Newgen sees these industries as those where regulatory scrutiny and long-running case management needs are typically highest.

Enterprise technology often lags behind the complexity of the businesses it serves. While many platforms excel at handling static data or single-function tasks, the modern business environment demands systems that can handle fluid, multi-dimensional challenges without manual intervention. This gap between rigid software capabilities and dynamic real-world operations is where advanced orchestration tools become essential rather than optional. Newgen’s strategy focuses on embedding intelligence directly into how enterprises operate, rather than treating automation as a separate layer that sits on top of existing processes.
